The 2nd annual Logger Sports Competition was held in Slave Lake on May 5, 2007.  Six teams competed for the title of "Best Lumberjack Team".  The winning team was Genesee Forestry Consultants. 

The competition was fierce and included individuals from the following organizations:
•  Tolko Industries Ltd
•  Slave Lake Pulp
•  Alberta Plywood Ltd
•  Alberta Sustainable Resource Development
•  Vanderwell Contractors (1971) Ltd. 
•  Genessee Forestry Consultants
 
The competitive events included: 
•  swede saw
•  axe throw
•  power saw bucking
•  standing block chop
•  accuracy cut
•  double hand bucking
 wajax competition
•  obstacle course. 

One event that was open to the public throughout the day was the harvest simulator and there was also a nail drive for the youth.  Public and youth competitors received prizes which were generously donated by Slave Lake and area businesses.
